At Parkway Workington we have invested in the latest technology to help make cinema more accessible for everyone.
All of the screens in this cinema are equipped with DAS (Dolby Accessibility Solution) which can help people with hearing or vision impairments.
This device has a screen on it with an adjustable arm. The screen can be adjusted for your comfort and has a privacy filter on it to minimise distraction for other cinema users.
Plug your own ear phones in (or borrow some of ours) and any film we show can be made more accessible for customers with impaired hearing or vision.
1. Reserve a DAS set by contacting us before your booking.
2. Collect your DAS at the ticket check point.
3. When in your seat, select your screen.
4. Select if you would like to use the DAS for HI (Hearing Impairment) or VI (Visual Impairment).
5. Plug in your headphones (or borrow some of ours) and enjoy the show.
The Dolby Accessibility Solution integrates hearing impaired (HI) amplified audio, visually impaired narrative (VI-N) audio, and closed captions (CC) in real time on a single dedicated receiver. Dolby Accessibility Solution allows us to make your cinema more accessible to all hard of hearing or visually impaired customers.
